  • Black Hills Spruce (Picea glauca var. densata)

    Black Hills Spruce have soft, light green needles with a dense growing habit. Spruce prefer full sun and sandy, well drained soils, but can grow in a variety of conditions.

    These trees are selected from a seed source in the Black Hills of South Dakota, making them ideally suited to the extreme conditions across Southwest Montana and the Rocky Mountain front.

    Colorado Blue Spruce have silvery-blue needles with a dense growing habit. Most Spruce do best full sun and sandy, well drained soils, but can grow in a variety of conditions.

    This hardy high-elevation seed source comes from the Kaibab region of Northern AZ and is one of the most successful and widely cultivated varieties of spruce for our region and growing conditions.

    Colorado Green Spruce have dark green needles with a dense growing habit. The majority of Spruce do best in full sun and sandy, well drained soils, but can grow in a variety of conditions.

    Sourced from northern Arizona’s Kaibab region, this high-elevation seed is among the most widely cultivated and successful spruce varieties for the Montana region and our growing conditions.

  • Engelmann Spruce (Picea engelmannii)

    Engelmann Spruce are native to Montana and can grow upwards of 70+ feet tall. In a landscape setting or regions with high winds (like Park County), they will often be shorter, around 40–60 feet.

    They are excellent for windbreaks, visual barriers and feature trees in lawns and landscaping. Spruce prefer full sun and sandy, well drained soils, but can grow in a variety of conditions.

  • Mugo Pines (Pinus mugo)

    This hardy Conifer has a bushy multi-stem growth habit and grows well in a variety of climates and conditions. It is ideally suited for space restrictive or crowded planting areas.

    Mugos make a great shade/visual barrier tree that offers robust protection to patios, walkways or buildings.

    We carry multiple varieties of Mugo pine including full sized (10–20 feet) & dwarf (35 feet).

    The regal Ponderosa Pine is Montana's official State Tree.

    Ponderosas have a proud vertical appearance and are very hardy and adaptable.

    They grow in a variety of climates and marginal soil conditions and they are one of the most widely distributed pine species in North America.

  • Rocky Mountain Bristlecone Pine (Pinus aristata)

    This Bristlecone Pine is slow-growing, very long-lived, and native to the high altitude slopes of Colorado and New Mexico.

    It is an extremely hardy and tough little tree—the most drought tolerant conifer we carry.

    This pine has a unique appearance and growth pattern and is a favorite of homeowners for its hardiness, smaller size and ability to be pruned to desirable shapes and forms.

How to Order Trees

Ready to place an order for trees? Email us or visit the farm and we’ll prepare your trees! 

When you’re ready to pick up, give us a 24–48 hours notice and we’ll have your trees ready when you arrive.
